Department of Pharmaceutics
Department of Pharmaceutics has been actively involved in improving the theoretical and practical skills of the students at the Diploma, Degree and Post Graduate level.The subject areas in the department are Pharmaceutics, Community Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy, Biopharmaceutics & Pharmacokinetics, Product Development &Validation, Documentation & Quality Audits and Quality Management.
Department of Pharmacology
The department has a pharmacology laboratory, a human anatomy &physiology laboratory, and animal house. The department is well equipped with wide range of state of art instruments, includingROTAROD (the skeletal motor activity), HOT PLATE (the analgesic activity), ELEVATED PLUS MAZE & ANXIOMETER (the anti-anxiety activity) and simulated softwares. Recently, the department has taken initiative to establish a well-equipped Animal House to carry out pre-clinical studies.
DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY
The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is an indispensable component of any pharmacy education program. Its wide-ranging coverage of drug discovery and development is crucial in moulding students into exceptional Pharma Professionals. Collaborative research opportunities with other departments expose students to ground-breaking research in pharmaceutical sciences and interdisciplinary fields. The distinguished faculty members expound upon a diverse range of subjects, including organic chemistry, general chemistry, physical chemistry, pharmaceutical/medicinal chemistry, and pharmaceutical analysis, imparting invaluable insights to students pursuing the four-year B.Pharm course.
DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACOGNOSY & PHYTOCHEMISTRY
epartment of Pharmacognosy is engaged in the study of the drugs from natural products i.e plant, animals, marine and other life origins. Research areas include extraction, isolation, characterization, and biological studies of phytoconstituents using animal models. The department also deals with development and standardization of novel herbal formulations and cosmetics.
DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACY PRACTICE
Department of Pharmacy Practice paves its way with great fervour, which prepares young pharmacists for future challenges in clinical settings. Pharmacy practice is a rewarding career in today’s expanding health care landscape. With the advent of more clinically oriented courses under the Department of Pharmacy Practice, graduates & post-graduates have an important commitment to the health care team, of which they are an integral part. Clinical Pharmacy services have proved and are proving their importance in healthcare systems of the world towards better healthcare. The department under the edge of clinical pharmacy services enables the clinical pharmacist to acquire & apply knowledge of drug action in patient care & to develop skills needed to promote the effective use of medicines in health care settings, by catering to the need of patients & other health care providers, through patient medication counselling, medication order review, drug & poison information services, pharmacist interventions, prescription analysis, ADR monitoring, Pharmaceutical care, drug therapy monitoring, etc
